Digital marketing is our wheelhouse. My wheelhouse, even. I’ll absolutely claim this one as my own. After 15 years with a career very closely tied to digital initiatives alongside the evolution of the Internet, digital marketing is truly where I can point your business in the right direction and help you achieve some pretty epic shit. With that in mind, I’ve decided it’s finally time we launch an introduction to digital marketing.

Let’s start of by saying that this is going to be another amazing series of blog posts. Diving into digital marketing is a huge undertaking and, to truly make it valuable, you have to understand what you’re working with from a number of ever-evolving angles. We’ll hit them all, but it’s going to take a little time. Stick with me and you’re absolutely going to learn a thing or two (or many) about your digital marketing strategy and how to make it a powerhouse within your business.

What is digital marketing?

Digital marketing is the promotion of your product or service across electronic media. We often think “on the Internet,” and while that’s true, we’re not limited to just the web. Electronic devices, apps, point of sale kiosks — there are plenty of opportunities for electronic promotion without an Internet connection — and it all falls into the digital marketing umbrella.

Why do I need digital?

Digital marketing tactics carry some pretty great benefits depending on your goals and strategies. It’s biggest advantage over other media: data.
